I have been frolicking on the internet and found the following sites:

Under the title 'Crew Organisation and Coordination ' the above site has a short, concise description of positions on a boat. It is nicely written, and will take maybe 10 minutes to read. I highly recommend this. Further down the page we go into "The fine art of crewing" this is almost pure gold!

This has obviously been written in the USA as the terminology is not what we typically use here. That being said, it is good to know that a sheet [not a rope] may have more that 2 names.
The article goes through different crew positions, and their responsibilities throughout varying maneuvers on a race course. Which is a thorough break down, if you can be bothered reading all the way through, and can understand the terms. Have a quick look, and feel free to shoot questions through, or come armed with Q's on Sat.

Again, written in the UK this time, but nicely compiled, as this has been put together for students and coaches under the RYA. Easy to read [especially when you realise that there is a diagram at the back] and goes through each position at maneuvers.
Happy reading!!!
